Dell 8500 Xps Drivers
Posted By admin On 04.12.20Aug 02, 2015 The Dell website lists the computer models that have been tested for Windows 10 compatibility. The XPS 8500 has not been tested. This is surprising since my XPS 8500 is only a few years old. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro with no problems. The offer of a free upgrade doesn't mean much if critical drivers are incompatible with Windows 10. Maintaining updated Dell XPS 8500 software prevents crashes and maximizes hardware and system performance. Using outdated or corrupt Dell XPS 8500 drivers can cause system errors, crashes, and cause your computer or hardware to fail. Furthermore, installing the wrong Dell drivers can make these problems even worse.
When I had upgraded my Dell XPS 8500 desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10, it apparently upgraded my wave maxx audio to maxxaudio 4, taking away my equalizer and rendering my 2.1 speaker system useless. I know that the only listed speaker arrangements list in 'configure speakers' were stereo, quadraphonic, 5.1 &7.1, but I could use a 2.1 system on the old wave maxx, but not on the upgraded version. What happened? Did something in Windows 10 seize control or block that ability? I backed out of the upgrade as I figured this problem resolution was going to take more than the 30 days one has to permanently accept Windows 10, and if I'm to be forced to buy another type of speaker system, that I have the time to do so.

Every time I've upgraded to a new version of Windows, I have encountered an unpleasant surprise. Windows 10 has really thrown my a real curveball this time. LOL

I too had the similar issue with my 'Dell XPS 8500 Early 2012' desktop when I upgraded from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro. I downloaded Win 8.1 audio driver from Dell website and installed. Now Wave Maxxaudio 4 works without any issue!
